Richard Carlson, in his bestselling book “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff and It's All Small Stuff, teaches us to do something nice for someone else and not to tell anyone about it.

According to him, while many of us frequently do nice things to others, we are almost certain to mention our acts of kindness to someone else, secretly seeking their approval.

While our acts of kindness are inherently wonderful, there is something even more magical about doing something thoughtful but mentioning it to no one, ever. Rather than diluting the positive feelings by telling others about our kindness, by keeping it to ourselves we retain all the positive feelings.

The next time you do something really nice for someone else, keep it to yourself and revel in the abundant joy of giving.

Let me share to you this beautiful story of father and son. The son confronts resentment towards his father only to realize his true intentions at the end of the story.
