Feast of the Immaculate Conception
9:09 AM
Today is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. This celebrates
the solemn belief in the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is universally celebrated on December 8, nine months
before the feast of the Nativity
of Mary, which is celebrated on September 8. It is
one of the most important Marian feasts celebrated in the liturgical calendar of the Roman Catholic Church.
As my family’s tradition,
we had a church visit at Immaculate Conception church in Bulua, Cagayan de Oro
City. Lighting candles and saying a prayer of gratitude for all the intercessions
the blessed mother has done to my family. Simple dinner was had after our church
visit.
The picture below is
the newly garnished altar of the church.
